If so, is it a big improvement in sound? (I may watch the DVD once, so I'm mush more interested in the CD's.)

Mine came on Thursday afternoon (the 19th) here in St Louis. I preordered over a month ago and recently was sent a notice that the order was going through. I figured I wouldn't see it for weeks, knowing their track record, but it got here quick.

Though I put the DVD in, brand new without a scratch, and it's skipping during various parts. Not sure what's up with that, gonna give it a replay on another player, but I might have gotten a lemon. I haven't even listened to the CD's yet, but the DVD audio is fantastic.

Got my copy yesterday. Listened to about half, mostly the high lights and the sound is fabulous. Have not had a chance to run it thru my HDCD system yet, but like all other HDCD's sure it will improve even more.
Great add to my collection, despite the guitars going slightly out of tune, which I could pick up.
Had a chance to watch about 20 mins of the DVD which is cool and noticed Jerry tuning mid song a number of times.

Saturday is the day mine is supposed to arrive. Even though the dead stunk it up by 1992 I am still bummed Jerry got 'sick' and the 3rd Venetta show was cancelled. All sorts of my friends from around the country had converged on my house in Olympia prior to this show in hopes of some magic. Silly naive kids that we were. We had fun none the less.

Arrived today. Only listened to a few tracks in the first set and the sound is fantastic. Will give the Blu Ray a spin tonight but won't be able to blast it. I'm with you as i will get a lot more use out of the music anyways.

I'm curious to see how it compares to the E72 shows. I think they sound good, but i suspect this will be better.

I got it from dead.net, which is the only place i thought you could get the Blu Ray version. I'm sure i paid more (closer to $55). You can get the "retail" version with the DVD sans the book and cover for a bit cheaper at amazon.com i think.

I should listen to the elbow, I mean the elders...
Just got that scaled down version in the mail. Went right
on deadnet and got the bells and whistles edition. I figure
if it took em 41 years to get it right, might as well do it
right. Right?
I will give the basic edition I have to my tour head friend this week at the Mickey show, and wait for the cherry. So it wont go to waste.
Just thought I would waste one minute of your time...

That's cool of you to give that other one away. The book is pretty interesting and the little i have watched of the Blu ray is impressive. You can practically see the splinters of wood entering the naked pole guy. Sometimes high resolution is not the best choice although the sound is really good on it.

After looking around at all the different places and sites
and packages and money involved, I realized there are many
variables involved. Thus, rendering my post pointless.
Which as you know is nothing new.
But thanks for the info. I think I just ordered one without
the book and cover that you mention (dammit). Oh well,
at least it was released 41 years after the show.

Arrived yesterday from Amazon. Sound is a big upgrade, almost jarring after years of becoming accustomed to the "terroir" of the dankseed version. None of the stage patter is on the CDs.

The sound on the CDs is also better than the sound on the DVD, although I don't know why that would be so. Maybe I was just tired by the time I watched the movie last night.

After seeing the SSDD bootleg on YouTube several times over the years, I have to say I wasn't blown away by the "official" version. Better picture quality, for sure, but still not all that great. Edited slightly differently from the YouTube version, too.

But still... one of the best shows ever, now available in 16-track Vault quality. Kind of a must, IMHO.

Yeah I'm hoping there's an Amazon Prime customer who got the retail version. (If you have Prime, you get the CD's on the release date.)

Great addition to the collection and fabulous sound. This is indeed a special concert and could not be happier.
